TDSBot for water service companies

Data-Driven Route Scheduling for Water Service Companies

A calendar treats every customer the same — same interval, same cost. Some sites have 60 days of filter life left. Others failed two weeks ago. TDSBot replaces the calendar with a priority list built from actual depletion data.

What changes when you run on data

Three things TDSBot fixes for water service companies

01 — Route efficiency
Visit the right sites. Skip the ones that don't need you.

Some sites have filters with 60 days left. Others failed two weeks ago. TDSBot tells you which is which before you dispatch — your route plan becomes a priority list, not a calendar.

25–40%
Reduction in unnecessary site visits across deployed service fleets
02 — Customer retention
No overdue filters. No surprise complaints. No churn.

TDSBot alerts before the filter fails — you arrive before the problem and show the customer their filter history on a tablet. Customers who see their data don’t leave.

03 — New revenue
Every TDSBot reading is a data-backed upsell conversation.

TDSBot surfaces problems customers don't know they have — LSI predicting scale, Larson-Skold showing corrosion, % in-range revealing out-of-spec days. Data-backed service conversations, not pitches.

Your customer portfolio

One dashboard. Every customer type.
Different thresholds per site.

TDSBot lets you set different TDS alert thresholds for each customer site based on their application. A coffee machine needs different water than an office water cooler. Your dispatch board shows all of them in one view — flagging the ones that need attention, sorted by urgency.

Coffee chains

Filter exhaustion is a taste and warranty event. TDSBot tracks TDS, LSI and cumulative hardness. Technician arrives with the full history on a tablet.

Alert: TDS >180 ppmFilter life: 30d+ notice
Office buildings

High-throughput floors exhaust filters faster than low-occupancy ones — all on the same schedule. TDSBot sorts every site by actual remaining life.

Alert: TDS >200 ppm% in range: monthly report
Hotels & restaurants

Combi ovens, warewashers, ice machines — each with different thresholds. One hotel can have 6 TDSBot devices, each with its own depletion timeline.

Alert: per appliance typeCumulative hardness: descale
Car & vehicle washing

TDS above 10 ppm leaves spots. When the membrane degrades, spotting begins. Your service call arrives before the customer notices.

Alert: TDS >10 ppm (RO out)Reject ratio: membrane health
Healthcare & labs

Continuous TDS and conductivity logs for labs and clinical environments. Immediate alert on any threshold breach — no calendar-based sampling.

Alert: per specificationContinuous timestamped log
Residential & SME

Home RO, under-sink filters, small offices — longest tail, hardest to manage at scale. TDSBot turns a quarterly call into a data-driven visit.

Alert: TDS >150 ppmFilter life: app + service alert
Ice machine services

Scale on evaporator plates above 125 mg/L is invisible until the machine fails. TDSBot tracks hardness load and alerts for descaling before ice production is lost.

Alert: hardness >125 mg/L est.Cumulative load: descale trigger
Food & beverage production

Process water consistency matters for product consistency. TDSBot monitors multiple points and reports % time in spec for batch documentation.

Alert: per process spec% in range: batch quality docs
Route planning

The before and after of data-driven dispatch

Every water service company running on a calendar is making two mistakes simultaneously — visiting sites that don't need attention, and missing sites that do. TDSBot eliminates both by giving the dispatch team a real-time priority view.

Commercial model for service companies

Three ways TDSBot generates revenue for your business

Hardware revenue at installation

Partner pricing on TDSBot hardware means every installation generates margin before the first service visit. The device sits at your customer's site, monitors their water, and creates your ongoing service relationship. Hardware margin is yours — the prices shown on this site are consumer/direct pricing.

Revenue model
Partner hardware pricing + your install and commissioning fee. One-time revenue at each new customer site — paid on installation.
Recurring SaaS revenue

Bundle TDSBot monitoring into your service contract as a recurring revenue line. Partner SaaS rates create margin between your cost and your customer price — yours to keep or invest in winning premium contracts. At scale across a fleet, this becomes a material annual recurring revenue line.

Revenue model
Discounted SaaS rate for partners · bill customers at your rate. Recurring monthly revenue that compounds as your fleet grows.
Data-backed upsell services

TDSBot data reveals upgrade opportunities your customers don't know they need. LSI showing scale risk → quarterly descale contract. Larson-Skold showing corrosion → inhibitor dosing service. Low % in-range report → equipment upgrade.

Example
Technician visits with TDSBot data · LSI +1.4 at customer site → proposes quarterly descale service at $800/visit · 2 extra visits/yr = $1,600 new ARR.
Partner economics

Service company partners receive preferential hardware and SaaS pricing. At 200 monitored devices, the recurring SaaS margin is material — the right scale to discuss when you contact us.

Upsell conversations

Data your technicians can talk to customers about

The best upsell happens when your technician arrives at a site with data the customer hasn't seen. These aren't fabricated selling points — they're real readings from the customer's own TDSBot device, explained in plain language during the service visit.

Train your service team on three conversations. They're all data-backed, all relevant to the customer's own equipment, and all lead to a higher-value service contract.

TDSBot shows: LSI +1.2 at combi oven
Technician conversation: scale risk

“Your water is scale-forming at the temperature your oven runs at. This is what's costing you an extra 10% on energy and shortening the element life. We can put you on a quarterly descale programme — I can show you what your cumulative hardness load has been over the last 90 days.”

→ Outcome: quarterly descale contract
TDSBot shows: % in range 67% last month
Technician conversation: filter underperforming

“Your filter was within spec only 67% of the time last month. I can show you exactly which days it ran out of range and for how long. This is probably why your espresso machine is showing early wear. You might need to go from a 6-month to a 4-month change at this location.”

→ Outcome: increased service frequency contract
TDSBot shows: Larson-Skold 1.8
Technician conversation: corrosion protection

“Your water chemistry is aggressive toward steel — specifically, the chloride and sulphate levels are high enough to cause pitting corrosion inside your boiler, independently of the scale. A corrosion inhibitor dosing unit would address this. Here’s the Larson-Skold reading from your TDSBot.”

→ Outcome: corrosion inhibitor dosing service
Your account. Protected.

The hierarchy is built in. Your customers are yours.

TDSBot's distributor model comes with an account protection policy designed to prevent the channel conflicts that kill distribution partnerships. If you install a TDSBot on a piece of equipment at a customer site, that specific install is protected in your account — WaterTDS and other dealers can't access or poach it. Protection is scoped to the equipment line you install on, not the entire physical address: a multi-location brand can have different sites served by different dealers in different territories, and a single site can have different equipment lines (a purifier, an ice machine) served by different specialist dealers, each independently protected under its own account.

The four-tier hierarchy — WaterTDS → master distributor → service company / dealer → end customer — is built into the platform. Your customers see only their own sites. You see all your customers. WaterTDS sees anonymised aggregate data only — never individual customer readings.

Account protection policy

Protection is per equipment line, not per site or per brand. Each device you install is registered to your service company account, covering that specific equipment line — no other dealer or WaterTDS direct sales can access, contact or service that install without your consent. A single site can have multiple equipment lines (e.g. a purifier and an ice machine) served by different specialist dealers, each independently protected; a multi-location customer can likewise have different sites served by different dealers in different territories. Broader exclusivity across a customer's full site or footprint is available as a separately negotiated term for qualifying volume. Documented in your dealer agreement.

Scoped visibility — you see your customers, not others

Your dashboard shows all your customer sites. You do not see other dealers' customers. Your customers see only their own devices. The hierarchy enforces privacy at every tier.

Dealer agreement — terms you can build a business on

The WaterTDS dealer agreement covers: wholesale pricing, account protection, data rights, territory (if applicable), and termination terms. Non-exclusive by default — exclusive territory available for volume commitments.

Data rights — clear, layered, yours where it counts

Raw sensor readings are yours. TDS, conductivity, temperature, flow, timestamps — always exportable, always within your account hierarchy. The analytics layer is ours: alert logic, depletion models, LSI/LS calculations, fleet intelligence. You receive the outputs. The method stays with us. WaterTDS's public city water quality pages show a citywide average across every TDSBot reporting in that city — device locations and account details are never shown.

What service companies say

From route managers
and business owners

“We service 19 sites in Phoenix area across coffee shops and office. We were running every one on a quarterly calendar. TDSBot showed us that 11 sites could go 5–6 months and 8 sites needed us at 8 weeks. We cut our van mileage by 28% in the first six months and eliminated every overdue filter complaint.”
JHJHOwner · Phoenix, AZ
“The upsell conversations changed completely. Before TDSBot, we’d go to a customer and say "your filter’s due." With TDSBot we go and say "your LSI is 1.4, which means your boiler is accumulating scale at this rate, and here’s the 90-day trend." Customers hear a completely different sentence. Contract value per customer is up 35%.”

Questions from service companies

Before you sign up,
the straight answers

TDSBot installs inline at each customer site and reports filter depletion status continuously. The service company's dispatch dashboard shows every customer site, its current TDS output, estimated days of filter life remaining, and whether a service visit is needed this week. Instead of scheduling routes by time interval — change every 3 months regardless — service teams visit only sites that actually need attention. Across deployed fleets, this reduces unnecessary service visits by 25–40% while eliminating overdue filter situations entirely.

Yes. Water service companies can integrate TDSBot into their service offering — bundled into a premium service tier or as a standalone monitoring add-on. The four-tier account hierarchy (WaterTDS → master distributor → dealer/service company → end customer) is built into the platform. Each service company sees only their own customer sites; their customers see only their own devices. An account protection policy ensures no cross-selling conflict between dealers in the same network. Contact partners@watertds.com to discuss dealer programme terms.

TDSBot data reveals which customers have water quality problems they don’t know about — high LSI (scale risk), Larson-Skold corrosion risk, or TDS drift indicating source water changes. These create specific, data-backed conversations: "Your combi oven is receiving water at LSI +1.2 — you should be on a quarterly descale service, not annual." The % time in target range report gives service companies documented evidence of filter performance to support contract renewals and identify sites that need an equipment upgrade.

Water service companies deploy TDSBot across their entire customer portfolio: coffee chains and independent cafés (filter depletion, SCA water compliance), office buildings and corporate campuses (drinking water filters, water coolers), hotels and restaurants (HORECA — combi ovens, warewashers, ice machines), car washes and vehicle cleaning operations (RO output for spot-free rinse), and light industrial and healthcare (water purity compliance). TDSBot's single dashboard handles all customer types with per-site configurable alert thresholds.

Technicians can access any of their assigned customer sites from the TDSBot mobile app or browser. For a specific site visit, they see: current TDS reading, filter depletion timeline (days remaining and the trend curve), the last 90-day history, LSI and Larson-Skold scores, and the % time in target range report for the last month. This is the data they bring to an upsell conversation. After the service visit and filter replacement, the technician logs the replacement in the app — TDSBot resets the depletion model against the new filter's baseline capacity.

Yes, and this is essential for running a mixed customer portfolio. A car wash needs a TDS alert at 10 ppm (RO output for spot-free rinse); a coffee chain might alert at 180 ppm; an office water cooler at 200 ppm; an ice machine alerts on hardness accumulation, not TDS. Each device is configured with its own alert threshold at onboarding. You set the threshold; TDSBot monitors against it. The dispatch board shows all devices in one view but each device is judged against its own threshold — not a global one.

The TDSBot device remains at the customer's site — they own the hardware. When your service contract with that customer ends, you transfer the device from your dealer account to the customer's own account (or to the next service company they engage). The account protection policy covers active contracts; once a contract is formally terminated and you initiate the transfer, the device moves. The customer's raw sensor readings stay with the device. The analytics and predictions TDSBot applied to those readings are platform outputs, not transferable data. This is documented in the dealer agreement terms.

Account protection is scoped per site, not per brand. If a national or regional customer has locations in different cities, each site is independently protected under whichever dealer installs there first — a dealer who installs at one location does not gain any claim over that customer's other locations elsewhere. For example, if you install at a customer's Salt Lake City site, a different dealer can independently install at that same customer's Kansas City site — the two are separate protected accounts, even though it's the same brand. This keeps large multi-location accounts servable by multiple regional dealers rather than bottlenecked through one. If you want to pursue a customer's full multi-location footprint under a single account, broader exclusivity can be negotiated separately as part of your dealer agreement, subject to qualifying volume — contact partners@watertds.com to discuss.

Dealer onboarding is typically 1–2 weeks from signed agreement to first devices shipping. The process: (1) introductory call to confirm fit and discuss pricing — typically 45 minutes; (2) dealer agreement review and signing — 3–5 business days; (3) platform account setup and dashboard access — 24 hours after signing; (4) first device order placed and shipped — 5–7 business days. Your first technician training session (90 minutes, remote) covers device installation, dashboard use, customer onboarding workflow, and upsell conversation frameworks. After that, you're operating independently.
