EPA Standards Miss Many Chemicals in Drinking Water, Study SaysMore
Scale on combi ovens, warewashers and ice machines accumulates invisibly. You pay it in energy bills, emergency service calls and equipment that fails before its time.
TDSBot makes every cost visible — and predictable.

Scale on combi ovens, warewashers and ice machines accumulates invisibly. You pay it in energy bills, emergency service calls and equipment that fails before its time. TDSBot makes every cost visible — and predictable.
Scale on the steam generator reduces heat transfer and creates hot spots — that’s a food safety risk, not just an equipment cost. TDSBot logs water quality at every appliance continuously, giving you timestamped records for every health inspection and a data-driven descale schedule that isn’t guesswork.
Managing water quality across a hotel kitchen means different thresholds for different appliances, different service intervals, and no way to know which one needs attention without walking the floor. TDSBot shows the status of every device in real time — and alerts you before something fails, not after.
Estimates based on industry energy cost data and average service rates. Actual costs vary by location and appliance age. TDSBot monitoring does not eliminate scale — it optimises treatment and scheduling.
TDSBot installs on the water supply line to each appliance. Different appliance types have different water quality requirements and different failure modes from poor water. One sensor, precisely placed, tracks the metric that matters for each.
Scale on the steam generator reduces heat transfer and creates hot spots. One millimetre of scale across three combi ovens adds $3,000+ to the annual energy bill.
Scale blocks spray nozzles, causes rewash cycles, and reduces detergent efficiency by 15–30%. Hard water is the most common cause of spotted glassware.
Above 125 mg/L hardness, scale on evaporator plates reduces ice yield and in extreme cases contaminates ice with calcium flakes. An unmonitored machine can fail a HACCP inspection.
Above 150 mg/L: faster linen degradation, higher detergent spend, drum scale. TDSBot tracks softener output to confirm treatment is working before quality drops.
Guest coffee complaints are usually water complaints. Alkalinity above 75 mg/L dulls extraction; TDS above 250 ppm creates heavy, bitter shots. Full SCA inference and corrosion tracking available.
Guest-facing filtered water is often the least monitored system in a hotel. An exhausted filter supplying unfiltered water is a quality and brand risk.
Industry benchmarks for a hotel kitchen at 200 mg/L hardness (moderately hard). Adjust with the calculator above for your site's hardness level.
TDSBot estimates average hardness (mg/L as CaCO₃) from inlet water chemistry you enter at onboarding — typically from a lab test or utility CCR report — and tracks estimated cumulative hardness load: the calculated total of calcium carbonate passing through each appliance. This estimate is compared against manufacturer-published scale tolerance thresholds. When it reaches the threshold, you descale. Not before. Not after.
Set a TDS target range per appliance. TDSBot measures every minute and reports the percentage of time filtered water stayed within range. One number per appliance per month — your treatment is either working or it isn't.
TDSBot logs continuous TDS and temperature data with timestamps for every device. This record can support warranty assessments and health inspections. Hardness figures are estimates based on onboarded inlet water chemistry — for regulatory purposes, lab-confirmed hardness data may also be required.
TDS and temperature measured continuously by TDSBot sensors and logged with timestamps for every device. Exportable as a dated PDF to support health authority inspections. Total hardness figures shown in reports are taken from the tested water hardness you entered at setup — TDSBot does not measure hardness directly.
Most hospitality operations have no continuous water quality records at all — if an appliance fails and a warranty question arises, there is nothing to show. TDSBot gives you a continuous, timestamped log of TDS, temperature and flow rate at every appliance. TDSBot does not certify compliance with any standard.
Choose hourly email alerts for critical systems (ice machine, guest water), or a midnight digest for low-urgency appliances. Chef, facilities manager and service company can each receive separate alert streams. WhatsApp alerts coming soon.
Hotel group with 15 properties? One dashboard, every appliance, every property. Alert roll-up to the group facilities director. Property manager sees only their own site. Hierarchy is built into the platform — no custom configuration needed.
Volume of water filtered, filter cartridges saved vs time-based replacement, estimated CO₂ offset. Feeds directly into your property's ESG reporting framework. Filter volume data comes from continuous TDS sensor logs. CO₂ offset figures are estimates based on industry benchmarks.
TDSBot connects to your facilities CMMS via webhook or API. Filter depletion alerts and descale scheduling alerts appear as work orders in your maintenance system — no separate app for your engineering team to check.
Buy the sensor once. Plans are chosen in the app after your TDSBot arrives — upgrade, downgrade or switch anytime, no lock-in.

Larger flow meter sizes for commercial kitchens, laundry mains and high-flow installations.
All three plans measure every minute — what changes is how often data leaves the sensor, and which analysis runs on it.
TDSBot installs in 15 minutes per appliance. Choose your plan when you set up — upgrade to Protect anytime you want compliance logs, data-driven descaling, and fleet management.
