Ice Clarity & Water Consistency for Dirty Soda & Bubble Tea

Ice, syrup dilution and tea extraction are mostly water by volume. TDSBot monitors the RO or filtration feeding your fountain and ice machines inline — so every location tastes like the recipe, not like the local water.

Why water matters here

Three places water quality
shows up in the cup

None of this requires a lab test to notice — customers notice first, usually as a complaint about a specific location, not the brand.

Cloudy ice
Dissolved minerals are the main cause of cloudy, fast-melting ice. High-TDS water feeding the ice machine shows up immediately as a visual defect in the cup — the easiest thing for a customer to notice and post about.
Syrup dilution drift
Recipes assume a water baseline. When source TDS shifts — a new supply well, seasonal treatment changes, a tired softener — the same pour ratio tastes different, even though staff followed the recipe exactly.
Tea extraction consistency
Hardness and alkalinity affect how tannins and flavor compounds extract from tea leaves. Two stores brewing the same tea from the same bag can taste noticeably different if their water chemistry differs.
How it works

One set of inline sensors. Every location, one view.

TDSBot doesn't filter or treat anything — it watches the output of the RO or filtration system you already have, and tells you before a customer does.

01 · Install
Inline, 20 minutes
Quick-connect fittings, no special tools. Fits between your RO/filtration output and the fountain or ice machine supply line. Pair with BLE, set up WiFi, select your purifier system.
02 · Measure
TDS, flow, temp — every minute
ESP32-S measures TDS, temperature and flow volume & rate continuously. Uploads hourly or daily to AWS, where the backend tracks filter life and flags TDS drift against your baseline.
03 · Alert
Before the ice looks cloudy
Filter depletion alerts with 30+ days' notice. Multi-site fleet dashboard on Protect and above — one view for every store, its own view for each store manager.

FAQ

Common
questions

Both categories are mostly water by volume — soda base, syrup dilution, tea extraction and the ice itself. High TDS or hardness shows up as cloudy ice, flat or off-tasting syrup dilution, and scale buildup in ice machines and RO systems. Because franchise locations often serve from a central recipe, inconsistent water between stores means inconsistent drinks between stores, even when staff follow the recipe exactly.

No. TDSBot doesn't filter or treat water — it's an inline sensor that monitors the output of your existing RO, softener or carbon filtration system, so you know when performance is drifting or a filter needs changing before it affects ice clarity or syrup taste, rather than finding out from a customer complaint.

Yes, on every plan — the multi-site fleet dashboard is included from Monitor. A corporate → site hierarchy lets an ops team see filter status and TDS trends across every location in one view, while individual stores see only their own equipment.

Hardware starts at $59 per sensor, one-time. The Monitor plan is $2 per device per month, and includes the multi-site fleet dashboard. Protect, which adds hourly and near real-time monitoring, is $3 per device per month.

Disclaimers: TDSBot measures TDS, conductivity, temperature and flow rate directly. LSI, Larson-Skold Index, hardness and alkalinity estimates are derived from onboarded utility water chemistry data — not directly measured inline. TDSBot does not measure PFAS, bacteria, or other biological or chemical contaminants; for RO systems, reject ratio is used as a proxy indicator of membrane performance only.
